About this deal

So I got out yesterday with my Tour Speed by Titleist. Played a different course that i like here in the Metroplex, Sherrill Park #1. Again this ball performed. Its not my Tour B X as far as Spin, Runs out s bit more when it hits the green. Distance wise, I hit a few drives with the TS and with the BX side by side and they were within a few yards of each other.

In my experience, the Titleist Tour Speed is best suited for golfers looking for a ball that offers distance, control, and feel without breaking the bank. It’s an excellent option for mid to low-handicappers who want a high-performance golf ball. The Titleist Tour Speed golf ball is designed for golfers seeking a balance of distance, control, and feel. It’s three-piece construction and thermoplastic urethane (TPU) cover provide an impressive blend of performance characteristics. Key Metrics To Consider Specification Both these golf balls are highly impressive in their own unique ways. They cater to different playing styles, and your choice between the two would largely depend on your personal preferences.I know. We’ve all come to expect that newer is longer. Newer spin more. Newer almost always feels softer so “ newer is the same” isn’t much of a sales pitch but let’s look at it from Titleist’s perspective. I played these for 9 holes yesterday and here are my thoughts after getting them out on the course:

However, you might want to consider other options if you prioritize maximum greenside spin or prefer a softer feel. Our Verdict Pro V1X Golf Balls from Titleist are designed to provide golfers with extraordinary distance and low long-game spin. With a higher trajectory and increased ball speed, the Pro V1X delivers unmatched performance off the tee and on long shots. The advanced technology behind the Pro V1X ensures exceptional control and a soft feel around the greens. If you're looking for a ball that combines long-distance capabilities with remarkable control, the Pro V1X is the perfect choice. Tour Speed is Titleist’s entry into the “not played on Tour” urethane market. While there is the occasional exception, we’re talking about balls used almost exclusively by recreational golfers, and moderate swing speed ones at that. It’s a competitive set that includes things like Chrome Soft, Tour Response and the Bridgestone RX series. Well, I want to see for myself as judging by the robot testing conducted by Titleist, this ball appears to be aimed at golfers with a ball speed, launch and spin rate that is similar to mine. The TPU cover also provides excellent greenside control and spin, crucial for precise short-game shots and saving strokes around the green. Both the Tour Speed and AVX boast a consistent and penetrating ball flight. However, the AVX features a unique 352 tetrahedral catenary dimple design that optimizes aerodynamics, promoting a higher trajectory compared to the Tour Speed’s more piercing flight. The bottom line is the results suggest that Titleist has improved the quality of the Tour Speed. The new model falls in the mid to high end of the Average range. The Good That higher relative compression along with a 346 quadrilateral dipyramid dimple design (that won’t be on the test) makes for a surprisingly long golf ball that proved one of the biggest eye-openers in our 2021 ball test.

The Tour Soft is similar but one major difference is the that it features a newly designed T-Shaped side stamp to aid with alignment. Feel One of the key advantages of the Titleist Tour Speed is its high ball speed off the tee, achieved through a high-speed core and fast casing layer. As a faster swinger (my driver head speed is around 112 mph), my worry with soft feel golf balls is that they’ll have a tendency to dip out of the air in the long game and I’ll lose out on distance. This wasn’t something I noticed with the Tour Soft 2022 though and the flight was impressive. I did notice that it had a slightly lower flight than the previous model of Tour Soft, although there was no real difference in distance. On the other hand, the AVX provides excellent distance, but with a softer feel. This softer feel may reduce the perceived distance compared to the Tour Speed. However, it’s worth noting that AVX balls have a lower spin in the long game, which can also add to the overall distance achieved. None of the balls tested fell below the USGA’s minimum size requirement. However, a single ball in the sample failed to meet our standard for roundness. Accordingly, it was flagged as bad. Inspection Centeredness and Concentricity

Our mega ball test at Woodhall Spa started around their fantastic short game area, hitting a variety of different length putts, chips and bunker shots. The ball felt great from the putter face and not too dissimilar to what I expect from a Titleist. The Titleist Tour Speed is designed for maximum speed and distance. Its high-speed core design, combined with a fast casing layer, gives you greater distance off the tee. This ball is aimed at golfers who want to add more yards to their drives. During my on course testing I was impressed by the overall performance on offer from both golf balls. My distances in all areas of the game were within a few yards of what I’d expect from my usual golf ball, the Titleist Pro V1x. The Titleist Tour Speed golf balls has great ball speed and solid performance around the green. Slightly firmer feel than the Pro V1. Introduction
